Personalisation Creating an efficient workflow requires careful definition of the tasks and tools at each stage. With the cellSens platform’s dynamic GUI the same is true – the tools you need for each stage are clearly available, without clutter or the need to search. The personally adjusted GUI can easily be stored and recalled according to users actual usecase situation.
Measurements It is often important for researchers to be able to define the dimensions of features within their field of view. The cellSens Standard software introduces interactive measurement capabilities for distances, angles, rectangles, circles, ellipses and polygons. Measurements can be saved togheter with each image for later review and can be moved or deleted without altering the original image. The data generated by the measurement functions can be exported to Microsoft Excel for further processing and statistical analysis.
Enhanced Hardware control Many image features are determined by the microscope optics and illumination systems in use, such as magnification, imaging technique and brightness. Most of the components essential for these can be motorised, including objective, filter changes and internal shutters. Using cellSens Standard the user can easily control all these components, creating more reliable and repeatable image acquisitions.
Enhanced Image processing The Olympus cellSens Standard software is supplied with enhanced image geometry functions - mirroring, rotation, resizing, cropping and channel shifting. Furthermore, additional image processing tools are available including contrast adjustment, smoothing (lowpass), image sharpening, as well as noise and shading correction. cellSens Standard can convert the bit-depth and colour space settings of the image, providing greater flexibility for the more knowledgeable user. Further increasing this versatility, the software contains processing tools for multi-dimensional images, such as combination, extraction and separation of frames, colour channels and RGB images.
Optional Solution Module NetCam Using standard TCP/IP protocols, the labSens NetCam module facilitates the transfer of live, as well as stored, images throughout a network for teaching, mentoring or supervision. As a result, even when outside of the laboratory, colleagues and/or supervisors can monitor the work from any point on the network, improving the efficiency of the laboratory.
Optional Solution - Manual Process Control This module adds two powerful image processing workflows. Instant EFI allows the automatic and effortless creation of extended depth-of-field images: just manually focusing through your tick sample will allows cellSens software to automatically monitor in-focus details and add them all togheter to the final image. With manual MIA the possibilities of panoramic imaging are made available through a guided wizard: simply select the desired size of the final image and the software will help the user in moving over the sample in the correct way to acquire each needed single image. It will them automatically compose the final image, taking care for invisible stitching and border refinement.
